Stan is EBM’s Director for Education Services. He has led EBM and BDO’s work on the DfE’s Academy programme for the last 7 years and has worked on the establishment of over 200 Academy schools, Free Schools and University Technical Colleges. He has an MBA in Business Management and, as a Director within BDO’s consulting team, has delivered client services in programme and project management, strategic planning, change management, knowledge review, business case development, business transformation, training and development and the delivery of business solutions in a range of public, voluntary, charitable and non-government organisations.

Stan’s aim is to provide exceptional quality, clear and unambiguous strategic advice and guidance to clients throughout the life cycle of the work undertaken and beyond. In doing so he focuses on the building of effective and productive links with stakeholders.

Richard is an experienced project and programme manager, change management specialist and a public finance expert with over 17 years’ experience working with UK and international government organisations to support the development and implementation of Government policy and improved service delivery.

For the past eight years, Richard has supported UK central and local Government, multi-Academy Trusts and high-profile Academy sponsors to implement the UK Government’s Academies and Free Schools’ programme, and manage educational transformation across all phases of education. A significant part of this work has focused on project managing and providing financial and business advice to over 35 sponsored and converter academies and free schools. He has managed both the successful transformation of underperforming schools and the set-up of new schools. His work includes all aspects of the strategic, business operations and financial aspects of the Academy and free school set up, delivery and development from the initial planning and application stages through the pre-opening phase to post opening support.

Richard has a BSc in Economics, an MSc in Economic Development and is a PRINCE II and Better Business Cases practitioner.

Paul is currently working on developing digital resources for Colleges and Schools. He is working closely with a company that has one of the largest resources of educational material written in PREZI. He is also working with a number of educational providers developing Free schools e.g. the Church of England.

Previously, Paul worked with Birmingham City Council where he was the Children Young People and Families Directorate Lead on its Academies Programme for four and a half years. The Birmingham Academies Programme was one of the largest Academies Programmes in the country with approximately £150 million investment in new build Academies and a rapidly developing Converter Academy Programme with approximately 30 schools involved. Free Schools were also being developed.

Paul has over thirty-five years experience in Education and Training and has undertaken a wide range of senior management roles in Education establishments, Local Education Authorities and Government Non-Departmental Bodies. This has often involved introducing and managing significant change, innovation and resourcing.

Paul has delivered and developed a wide range of curriculum from Foundation Courses to Post Graduate Programmes. When he was working in FE, he was the Programme Coordinator for the Teacher Training Courses and coordinated professional staff development. Whilst in FE he was also the College’s link to the local Sixth Form Consortium and education representative on Radio Broadlands in Norfolk.

Paul’s focus is and always has been helping to develop new schools that are focused on improving young people’s life chances and their progression to higher education and/or employment.

Colin is a highly experienced management consultant who utilises his financial and commercial expertise to advise clients and work with them to identify creative solutions to problems and achieve successful outcomes.

He specialises in supporting and advising public sector clients in establishing services at “arms-length” from Government, including the setting-up of Academies and Free Schools. He was responsible for the overall project management of a number of early Academy projects which included new build schemes, the recruitment of senior leaders and the development of the their education vision and approach. He subsequently assumed a similar role on Free School projects before advising on the set-up of more than 30 Converter Academies including Multi Academy Trusts (MATs).

Colin also advises Academies and MATs on their governance structure and the organisation of back office functions. He assists in the development of MAT business plans, preparing budgets and running procurement processes for services such as HR, financial systems and payroll. He has also undertakes risk assessments prior to MATs taking on new schools.

He is a qualified accountant (CIPFA) with an MBA and over 30 years post qualification experience, including three years as a Finance Director. In addition he is a PRINCE 2 practitioner and an experienced trainer and facilitator.
